Bautismos de Infantes y Niños/as

Celebraciones comunales son varias veces en el año. Se les pide a las familias que registren a sus hijos trayendo un certificado de nacimiento.  La primera charla es de tres horas y la segunda charla de dos horas incluyendo la práctica.  Las fechas de los bautismos salen en el boletín mensualmente. Baptism of Adults

Bautismos de Adultos

Adultos interesados en hacerse Católicos, participan en el Rito de Iniciación Cristiana de Adultos (RICA). First Reconciliation and First Communion
At about age 7, children can begin to prepare to receive communion, the body and blood of Christ, for the first time. Children are also prepared to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Regular participation in Sunday School is a requirement as well as other classes of children with their parents/guardians.  Registration is in September.  First Communion is celebrated in the Spring, after Easter.

 

Reconciliación y Primera Comunión

A la edad de los 7 años, los niños/as comienzan a prepararse para recibir la comunión, el cuerpo y sangre de Cristo, por primera vez. Los niños/as también son preparados para recibir el sacramento de Reconciliación.  Participación regular en la escuela dominical es un requisito, también como otras clases de niños con sus padres/guardianes. Registración es en Septiembre. Las Primeras Comuniones son en la primavera, después de la Pascua.

Reconciliation
The Church Fathers sometimes called this sacrament "the more difficult baptism."  St. Ambrose drew a parallel between reconciliation and baptism: "there are water and tears:  the water of Baptism and the tears of repentance."  The Sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated on Saturdays at 5:00pm and before and after all weekend masses and by appointment.  Contact Father Tony Haycock at 206-324-7100 ext 14. Communal celebrations of the Sacrament of Reconciliation are celebrated twice a year in preparation for Christmas and Easter. 

Reconciliación

Los padres de la Iglesia aveces llaman este sacramento "el bautismo mas dificil." San Ambrose hizo un paralelo entre la reconciliación y el bautismo: "hay agua y lagrimas: las aguas del Bautismo y la lagrimas del arrepentimiento." El sacramento de la Reconciliacion es celebrado los sabados a las 5:00pm y antes y depues de las misas y también por cita. Comuniquese con el Padre Tony al 206-324-7100 ext. 14. Celebraciones de el sacramento de la Reconciliacion son dos veces al año en preparación para la Navidad y la Pascua.

Confirmation
The Sacrament of Confirmation is, with Baptism and Eucharist, one of the three sacraments of initiation; confirmation completes and "confirms" the grace of baptism.  Through the anointing with the sacred chrism the baptized person is "enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit," and more than ever "obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed" (Catechism 1285).  Confirmation is celebrated in the odd numbered years in January.  Preparation begins the summer before.  Contact Gudelia Alejo 206-324-7100 ext 16 or Yolanda Quiroga ext 29 for information on preparing for confirmation.

El sacramento de la Confirmación es, con el Bautismo y la Primera Comunión, uno de los tres sacramentos de iniciación; confirmación completa y "confirma" la gracia del Bautismo.  Por la unción del sagrado crisma la persona bautizada es "enriquecida con la fuerza especial del Espíritu Santo," y más que nunca "obligados a compartir y defender la fe de la palabra y lo hecho" (Catecismo 1285).  Las Confirmaciones se celebran en años impares en enero. La preparación comienza en el verano antes de las Confirmaciones. Marriage
The Church looks on marriage as a "covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life" (Catechism 1601).  In its understanding of marriage, the Church looks back to the union between man and woman ordained by God in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 1-2).  Christ worked his first miracle in the context of a wedding feast.  In the Sacrament of Matrimony, the married couple becomes, in their unity and in their love for one another, "an efficacious sign of Christ's presence" (Catechism 1613).

To get married at St. Mary's the couple must contact the parish 6 months before the date, complete marri age preparation classes, and be free to marry in the church.  Please contact Father Tony Haycock at ext 14 or Tricia Wittmann-Todd at ext 13.

Matrimonio

La Iglesia ve el matrimonio como "una alianza, en donde el hombre y la mujer establecen entre ellos mismos un compañerismo de la vida entera" (Catecismo 1601). En el entendimiento del matrimonio, la Iglesia mira hacia atrás a la unión entre hombre y mujer ordenada por Dios en el Jardín del Edén (Génesis 1-2). Cristo trabajo su primer milagro en el contexto de una fiesta de matrimonio.  En el Sacramento del Matrimonio, la pareja casada, se hace, en la unión y en su amor por el uno al otro, "una señal efectiva de la presencia de Cristo" (Catecismo 1613).

Para casarse en Santa María, la pareja debe comunicarse con la parroquia con 6 meses de anticipación, completar las clases de preparación matrimonial, y estar libres para casarse en la iglesia.  Por favor comuníquese con el Padre Tony a la ext. 14 o con Gudelia Alejo, ext. 16.

Anointing of the Sick
The Anointing of the Sick-formerly known as ‘last rites'-is no longer considered a sacrament only for those at the point of death.  Instead, this healing sacrament is for all those who are facing major surgery, chronic illness, or the weakness that comes with age.  Communal celebrations of the sacrament are celebrated regularly.  For information, contact Father Tony Haycock, 206-324-7100 ext 14.  In an emergency, please call Father Tony Haycock at on his cell phone, given on his voicemail.

Unción de los Enfermos

La Unción de los Enfermos-antes conocida como "santos olios"-ya no es considerado solamente un sacramento para aquellos que están al punto de la muerte. En vez, este sacramento de sanación es para todos aquellos que están enfrentando cirugía mayor, enfermedades crónicas, o debilidades que viene con los años.
